On Feb 9th, the Chinese Embassy in Malawi held the Spring Festival Reception, celebrating the Chinese New Year of Dog, over 200 guests including overseas Chinese, representatives from Chinese companies, Chinese Medical Team, Chinese teachers, local Chinese community and the Embassy staffs attended the ceremony.

In his remarks, H.E. Ambassador Shi Ting Wang expressed his gratitude to all the guests for their continuous contribution to the China - Malawi friendship and great support to the Embassy, wished all a happy and prosperous Chinese New Year!

H.E. Ambassador Shi Ting Wang said that the year 2017 was an extraordinary year for China. The 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China was successfully held in Beijing and has charted a new course for China’s future development. China and Malawi celebrated the 10th anniversary of diplomatic ties. In 2018, the Embassy will step up its efforts to provide even better assistance to the whole Chinese community here in Malawi and safe guard their legitimate interests.

 

The reception enjoyed a number of exciting performances and delicious Chinese food. Guests all spoke highly of the reception, impressed by the Motherland’s development achievement and expected China - Malawi ties will move forward to a new height.
