H.E. Ambassador Shi Ting Wang Pays a Farewell Call to the President of the Republic of Malawi

On April 11 2018, the outgoing Chinese Ambassador to Malawi, H.E. Mr. Shi Ting Wang and his spouse Mrs. Wang paid a farewell call to H.E. Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, President of the Republic of Malawi.The two sides exchanged views on bilateral relationship and other issues of common interest.

Ambassador Wang first conveyed President Xi Jinping’s cordial greetings to President Mutharika and thanked the President for attaching great importance to the development of China-Malawi relations and for his strong support towards the work of the Chinese Embassy in Malawi. With the joint efforts, the two countries have witnessed a strengthened political mutual trust, steady progress in economic and trade cooperation, increasingly active people-to-people and cultural exchanges. China-Malawi relations are at their best in history. Ambassador Wang said that the forthcoming Forum on China-Africa Cooperation will inject new vitality to the bilateral ties and the relationship between China and Malawi will surely usher in a brighter future.

President Mutharika spoke highly of Malawi and China relations and expressed his gratitude for the long-standing strong support and disinterested assistance of the Chinese government and people. The President also highly appreciated Ambassador Wang’s great contribution to the development of Malawi-China ties during his tenure, wished him to continue giving attention and support to Malawi. President Mutharika pointed out that Malawi attached great importance to developing relationship with China, and is willing to continue joint efforts with China to further promote bilateral cooperation in energy, economics and trade, and people-to-people exchanges, and bring Malawi-China relations to a new high.

Military Attache Mr. Zhao Weili and Economic and Commercial Counsellor Mr. Liu Guoyu from the Embassy also attended the event.
