On 24 November 2018, the official launching ceremony of the 5 Community Technical Colleges aided by the Chinese Government was held in Zomba. Mr. Liu Guoyu, the Commercial Councillor in the Chinese Embassy together with Hon. Grace Chiumia, Minister of Labour, Youth, Sports and Manpower Development laid the foundation stone of the Community Technical College in Zomba. More than 500 from all walks of life witnessed the ceremony.

    The 5 colleges are located in Zomba, Mulanje, Ntcheu, Nsanje and Mziba separately.
