Chinese Embassy in Malawi Holds a Reception Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China |

On 26 September 2024, Chinese Embassy in Malawi held a reception to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. More than 200 guests, including Ministers of Defence and other Ministers, officers of National Defense Forces, Parliament Members and other officials from the Malawian Government, as well as members of the Diplomatic Corps, overseas Chinese in Malawi joined the reception. In his opening remarks, Ambassador Long Zhou reviewed the great achievements of the People’s Republic of China in the past 75 years, elaborated on the strategic deployment and the significance of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, and introduced the outcomes of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation(FOCAC) and new achievements of China-Malawi cooperation. Long expressed under the leadership of the two Heads of States, China is ready to further deepen China-Malawi cooperation and promote common development, so as to continuously benefit the two peoples. Honorable Harry Mkandawire, Malawian Minister of Defence delivered a speech on behalf of President Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, extended warm congratulations to the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, spoke highly of the relationship between Malawi and China, and expressed the expectation to continue to strengthen the mutually beneficial cooperation with China in various fields to further advance the bilateral relations. The atmosphere of the reception was friendly and warm. Malawian children presented A Shared Future, the theme song of the FOCAC. The guests spoke positively of the friendship and cooperation between the two countries and looked forward to new achievements in bilateral practical cooperation. |
