On August 2, Ambassador Long Zhou met with Malawian Foreign Minister Nancy Tembo. Long introduced the achievements of the Third Plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and exchanged views with the Minister on the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and bilateral pragmatic cooperation.

Ambassador Long highlighted the significance and main achievements of the Third Plenary session. China will advance Chinese modernization by further deepening reform comprehensively, which will not only benefit the Chinese people, but also create more new opportunities for countries around the world. China is willing to work with Malawi to take the 2024 FOCAC summit as a new starting point to strengthen bilateral relations and promote mutually beneficial cooperation to a higher level.

Tembo warmly congratulated the successful convening of the plenary session, saying that China’s development will bring more opportunities to the world. Malawi will work with China and other parties to make positive contributions to the success of the FOCAC summit.
