Chinese Embassy in Malawi Holds a Reception for Malawians back from Visits to China in 2024

On 17 December 2024, the Chinese Embassy in Malawi held a reception for Malawians back from visits to China in 2024. More than 100 guests, including the Speaker of the Malawian Parliament, the Principal Secretary for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Members of Parliament, relevant government officials, and representatives from different sectors who participated in the exchange and training programs in China this year joined the reception.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Wang Hao, Chargé d’Affairs a.i, elaborated on the significance of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, and the outcomes of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Beijing Summit. Wang said that people-to-people exchanges between China and Malawi have become more frequent this year. China stands ready to work with the Malawian side to implement the important consensus of the two Heads of State, enhance exchanges and interactions in various fields, and continuously promote the China-Malawian strategic partnership to a new height.

Representatives from the Malawian side shared their experience in China and commended the great achievements China has made under the leadership of CPC, saying that China set an good example for developing countries to realize their own development, and that Malawi will benefit from Chinese modernization and other advanced concepts. They pledged to serve as friendly envoys to disseminate China’s stories, experience and opportunities in Malawi and contribute to the friendship between the two countries.
