On October 7, Ambassador Long Zhou paid a farewell call on Rt. Hon. Catherine Hara, the Speaker of the Malawian Parliament.

Ambassador Long reviewed the progress of China-Malawi relations in recent years, thanked the Malawian Parliament for its contribution to the development of bilateral relations, and appreciated the Malawian Parliament’s adherence to the one-China Principle. Long expressed that China is willing to continue to maintain close communication with the Malawian Parliament, deepen exchanges and cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries, and deepen China-Malawi strategic partnership to deliver more benefits to the peoples of the two countries.

The Speaker highly appreciated Ambassador Long’s work in promoting the development of bilateral relations during his tenure, and said that the Malawian Parliament will continue to pursue the one-China policy, further deepen legislative exchanges and cooperation between the two countries, and play an active role in advancing the development of Malawi-China relations.
