On October 25, the Chinese Embassy donated“Chinese Ambassador Scholarship”to Shaping Our Future Foundation, and food items to areas suffering food shortage. Mr. Wang Hao,Chargé d’Affaires a.i of the Chinese Embassy in Malawi and the First Lady of Malawi Madame Monica Chakwera attended the ceremony together and delivered speeches respectively.

Wang said that China has been always providing support within its capability for the education and people’s livelihood of Malawi. It is hoped that the donations could assist  impoverished Malawian children to continue their studies, and help people facing the threat of hunger get over difficulties. On the new starting point of the meeting between the two Presidents and the FOCAC Beijing Summit, China is willing to further enhance the China-Malawi strategic relations.

Madame Monica Chakwera accepted the donations on behalf of the foundation, and said that as a true friend and good partner of Malawi, China has provided valuable support to  Malawi’s national development over the years. Malawi is grateful for the timely assistance extended to the country which goes a long way easing people’s urgent needs. The Malawian side looks forward to deepening mutually beneficial cooperation with the Chinese side in various fields.
