On the evening of October 24th, Chinese Embassy in Malawi held a reception in order to welcome the incoming Defence Attaché Colonel Pan Chao as well to farewell the outgoing Defence Attaché Colonel Liu Jiahong. The Defense Minister of Malawi Honourable Harry Mkandawire, the Commander of Malawi Defense Force General Paul Phiri and distinguished guests from all circles attended the reception.

Charge d’Affaires Wang Hao spoke highly of the upgradation of the bilateral relationship to strategic partnership during the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation last month, which opened a new chapter and brought new opportunities to the enhancement of the military-to-military relationship.  

Honourable Harry Mkandawire highly praised Colonel Liu for his remarkable contributions, and wish Colonel Pan keep deepening the military cooperation as well to provide continuously support to the defense building of Malawi.

Colonel Liu Jiahong extended the appreciation for the supports given from the friends in Malawi, as well to express his willing to stay tuned of the development of the bilateral relationship between two countries.

Colonel Pan Chao expressed his confidence to renew the friendship on the legacy of his predecessor, as well to keep pushing the military-to-military relations and the practical co-operations to a new height.
