On November 7, Chinese Embassy in Malawi donated food to people suffering from food shortage in Sonkhwe district. Mr. Wang Hao, Chargé d’Affairs a.i of the Chinese Embassy, Mr. Charles Kalemba, Commissioner for the Department of Disaster Management Affairs, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malawi, Members of Parliament for the local area and traditional leaders attended the donation ceremony. Wang said that the Chinese Embassy sympathized deeply with people suffered from drought-induced food crisis recently. With this donation of food, the Embassy wishes to help them get through the crisis. From the new starting point of the meeting between the two Heads of State and the 2024 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, it is believed that China-Malawi friendly cooperation will continue to deepen and benefit our two peoples. Mr. Charles Kalemba, Members of Parliament for the local area, government officials and traditional leaders spoke highly of the assistance from the Embassy. Local people flocked to the handover site to express their gratitude to the Embassy for the timely help. Local media including MBC reported the event. |
