On 10 February 2025, H.E. Ms. Lu Xu, arrived in Malawi to assume the duties as the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Malawi. Protocol officers from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malawi, and officials of the Chinese Embassy greeted and welcomed the Ambassador Lu at the airport.

Mme.Lu thanked the Malawian officers for the warm welcome, and said she was ready to work with friends from all areas in China and Malawi to promote the bilateral relations to a higher level and build a China-Africa community with a shared future.

The Malawian officials warmly welcomed Mme.Lu to Malawi, reiterated that the Malawian government’s commitment to its relations with China, and that it will provide all necessary facilitation and support for Ambassador Lu in performing her duties.
