On March 4th, Ambassador Lu Xu met with Malawian Foreign Minister Nancy Tembo, and held in-depth discussions on China-Malawi relations and issues of mutual interest.

Ambassador Lu Xu thanked the Minister for the thoughtful arrangements made to assume her duties. Lu said that last year President Xi Jinping and President Chakwera upgraded the relationship between the two countries to a strategic partnership, which pointed out the direction for the development of China-Malawi relations. China is willing to work with Malawi to strengthen the bilateral relations and support each other on the international stage for the benefits of the two peoples.

The Minister warmly welcomed Mme. Lu Xu，and said that Malawi attaches great importance to the development of its relations with China, and is ready to work with China to continuously expand practical cooperation with aim of further promoting Malawi-China relations to a new level.
