On 19 April, China and Malawi jointly held the signing ceremony for the implementation agreement of the China-aid Malawi Judicial Complex Project. Mr. Chen Hao, Deputy Director-General of the Agency for International Economic Cooperation under China’s Ministry of Commerce, and Mr. Titus Mvalo, Minister of Justice of Malawi, signed the agreement. The signing was witnessed by Chinese Ambassador to Malawi Ms. Lu Xu, Chief Justice Mr. Rezine Robert Mzikamanda, and Attorney General Mr. Thabo Chakaka Nyirenda.

In her speech, Ambassador Lu highlighted that the construction of the judicial complex embodies the profound friendship between the two nations and their peoples. She noted that the signing of the implementation agreement marks another major milestone in the project’s progress. Ambassador Lu reaffirmed China’s commitment to working closely with the relevant Malawian departments to ensure the early completion and operation of the project. 

In his speech, Minister Mvalo expressed heartfelt appreciation for China’s generous support and reiterated Malawi’s commitment to providing all necessary cooperation to ensure the successful implementation of the project.Following the ceremony, Ambassador Lu and Mr. Mvalo were interviewed by major Malawian media outlets.
