On April 2, the donation ceremony by the Chinese Embassy in Malawi to the Beautify Malawi Trust was held at the State House. Ambassador Lu Xu and First Lady H. E. Mme. Prof. Gertrude Mutharika attended the ceremony and delivered remarks.

Ambassador Lu commended H.E. Mme. Prof. Gertrude Mutharika for her longstanding dedication to charitable causes in Malawi. Lu said that China is willing to continue deepening cooperation with Malawi and work together to build a China-Africa community with a shared future in the new era.

H. E. Mme. Prof. Gertrude Mutharika accepted the donation on behalf of the Beautify Malawi Trust, and expressed her sincere gratitude for China’s long-term support. Mutharika stressed that Malawi is ready to strengthen cooperation with China in areas such as education and sanitation, so as to deliver more benefits to the people.
