On June 30, the Handover Ceremony of Donation by the Chinese Embassy to the Parliament of Malawi was held at the Parliament Building. H.E. Ambassador Lu Xu, Rt. Hon. Sameer Suleman, Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Victor Musowa, First Deputy Speaker and representatives of MPs attended the event.

Ambassador Lu said that as a true friend of Malawi, China has always supported Malawi’s economic and social development to the best of its ability. She stated that China stands ready to work with Malawi to enhance exchanges and cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries, so as to inject new momentum into the development of bilateral relations.

Rt. Hon. Sameer Suleman conveyed sincere gratitude for China’s support. He reaffirmed Malawi’s unwavering commitment to the one-China principle, and expressed his willingness to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China to promote the steady and sustained development of Malawi-China strategic partnership.
